About the Role

Responsible for creating and monitoring data quality controls, identifying data quality issues, as well as supporting the development and management of metadata management, data lineage and data quality tools.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Data Quality Specialist you will:

  • Manage and review list of Critical Data Quality rules including providing guidance to data owners on how to embed those into business function.
  • Run the Data Quality forum, including preparing supporting documents as required.
  • Establish and review business processes and standards for data quality management and compliance.
  • Provide guidelines for structuring business metadata (e.g. business definitions, security/access levels, data quality rules) and technical metadata (e.g. technical/physical data elements, data lineage), where required.
  • Approve changes to metadata and manage new demand for metadata.
  • Review and approve business definitions and data lineage developed by domains.
  • Create and update enterprise Data Quality dashboard.
  • Participate in data quality issue root cause analysis and assist in designing action plans for remediating gaps.
  • Develop, implement and manage an enterprise-wide data dictionary.
  • Support implementation and management of metadata management, data lineage and data quality tools.
  • Aggregate domain data dictionaries into enterprise data dictionary.
  • Develop data lineage and metadata ingestion for prioritised data assets.
  • Manage approval process into DG forum for business

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within Data Governance programs.
  • Very strong familiarity with metadata issues, processes and practices.
  • Experience in system mapping/ source to target data mapping.
  • Experience defining, implementing and managing business glossaries and data dictionaries.
  • Strong project co-ordination experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and persuasion skills.
  • Strong skills in data management technology including metadata management, data lineage and data quality tools.
  • Experience maintaining metadata management tools, including developing data lineage and managing technical/ business metadata.
  • Experience building and maintaining Data Quality reports.
