About the Role

Provide support to the Head of Cyber Security Uplift to plan, manage and report on the successful delivery of multi-stakeholder projects within icare’s Cyber Uplift Program. Develop program level reporting, ensuring high-quality and accurate financial tracking, support and coordination to Cyber Security Program stakeholders along with and proactively maintaining the risk and issue register. Support the execution of cybersecurity uplift and optimisation initiatives by coordinating the implementation of controls, analysing risk impact, aligning technical outcomes with governance expectations, and enabling secure project delivery. This role acts as a crucial operational enabler for executing control uplift, optimisation and remediation plans across the cyber program.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will:

  • Assist with the execution and tracking of security control uplift and optimisation initiatives, ensuring requirements identified by optimisation specialists are implemented consistently across systems and platforms.  
  • Participate in project governance and reporting activities, contributing technical and risk insights to uplift steering groups, boards, and delivery forums.  
  • Liaise with project teams, architects, and control owners to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed mitigation strategies.  
  • Support documentation of control implementations, working closely with the Documentation Lead to ensure audit and governance artefacts are complete and accurate.  
  • Conduct technical and procedural gap analyses, assessing uplift and optimisation readiness against frameworks such as Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and the NSW Cyber Security Policy.  
  • Assist in threat modelling and vulnerability impact assessments, helping prioritise remediation actions within uplift and optimisation timelines.  
  • Contribute to the development and testing of security controls, participating in UAT cycles, configuration reviews, and security assurance processes.  
  • Coordinate go-live readiness for cybersecurity controls, including pre-implementation checks, security configuration validation, and initial monitoring handover.  
  • Maintain tracking registers for uplift items, ensuring traceability between risk findings, recommended mitigations, and control implementations.  
  • Support uplift and optimisation stakeholder communication, preparing briefing material, technical summaries, and status reports tailored for both technical and non-technical audience
  • Participate in project meetings and track actions, presentations, briefs, key messages and identify cybersecurity architecture, design including goals, objectives and metrics.
  • Reporting, documentation, assisting testing team with Security Standards and Protocols for testing such as User Acceptance Testing (UATs).
  • Enhancing the Cyber Security awareness and culture among all employees and partners, through training, communication, and engagement campaigns.
  • Reporting, documentation, assisting testing team with User Acceptance Testing (UATs), assisting Business Analysis activities and other duties as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering or supporting implementation of cybersecurity uplift and optimisation activities across applications or infrastructure. 
  • Prior involvement in cross-functional cyber remediation programs or risk management initiatives
  • Minimum 4 years in Information Technology/Cyber Security domain.
  • Familiarity with Cyber Security Projects and Information Security Risk Management
  • Strong skills in business process design, implementing business process change, and conducting training sessions
  • Strong understanding of security control design, implementation, and monitoring practices
  • Proficiency in analysing cybersecurity risks and translating them into remediation plans
  • Experience working with security documentation, reporting dashboards, and governance artefacts 
  • Familiarity with testing protocols (e.g. UAT, vulnerability scans, control verification)
  • Competency in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Pre-employment checks.
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Project Management or relevant field and/or equivalent industry experience and skills acquired through practical experience.
