About the Role

Develop and maintain icare’s cyber security architecture and roadmap in collaboration with colleagues. Work with teams to review, design and deliver solutions to ensure alignment with the approved cyber strategies, standards and reference architectures.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Platform Architect - Security you will:

  • Within the cyber security program develop and maintain the cyber security architecture artefacts, including current state, future state, roadmap, patterns, blueprints, and health of the cyber-domain landscape, ensuring alignment with enterprise architectures and principles.
  • Undertake high level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future trends, related architectures and issues to support future requirements for the enterprise security, its customers and business partners.
  • Proactively and regularly engage users of the in-scope platform/domain technologies to understand and uplift the user experience.
  • Collaboratively work with and support the icare technology practice, fostering knowledge sharing, driving excellence, supporting solutions/designs, and ensuring the broader enterprise architecture strategy is being realised at a platform/domain level.
  • Carry out the development of architecture heatmaps, conceptual designs and solution designs including engaging other architects (enterprise, platform, solution) as required.
  • As the key knowledge expert, provide architecture input into designs, integrations any gaps communicated with the project for resolution.
  • Provide cyber security architecture direction to development teams, participate in project implementations, and monitor and review progress on program and strategies against reference enterprise, cyber and platform architecture strategies.
  • Work with internal and external providers to research, evaluate, select and design solutions.
  • Ensure alignment of solutions delivered with published reference architectures and IT strategies.
  • Participate in internal architectural governance forums ensuring appropriate design decisions are made.
  • Lead the introduction of new cyber technologies into the organisation and engage it business driven technology acquisitions, by clearly understanding the enterprise requirements and running the appropriate technology selection process.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance regarding the design and implementation of strategic platforms.
  • Review, analyse and provide input for continuous improvement into cyber systems to provide recommendations on the alignment, risk, financial value and contribution to organisational priorities.
  • Assist in refining Cyber security processes, improving automation, and reducing inefficiencies in security control deployment and management. 
  • Provide architectural oversight and design assurance for implementation activities to ensure alignment with cyber reference architectures and strategic objectives.
  • Provide architectural assurance and technical guidance to ensure security controls implemented under the Cyber Uplift Program are aligned with strategic objectives and reference architectures.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive IT architecture experience, ideally within the Insurance, Financial Services, and/or Government sector.
  • A broad range of experience with developing Cyber / IT reference architectures and strategic roadmaps.
  • Experience developing strategic roadmaps and technology reference architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and communicating technical standards, policies, and guidelines.  
  • Broad experience in a wide range of information system technologies and technical architectures.
