Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Head of Audit (Digital & Transformation) you will:

  • Leverage technical and subject matter expertise to develop and lead the execution of the Digital & Transformation Internal Audit strategy, aligned with icare’s objectives and risk management framework and in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Leverage your functional, technical and subject matter expertise to contribute to icare’s risk based annual audit plan.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of a prioritised portfolio of audits and ensure that they are delivered within set timeframes and to set quality standards.
  • Deliver audit reports that provide clarity on issues, root causes and associated risks with clearly articulated insights on the effectiveness of business processes, risk and control frameworks and / or strategy.
  • Provide independent advice in relation to the design of effective risk management and control environments on key digital and business transformation projects.
  • Engage and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including leadership to achieve effective outcomes, e.g. ensure deliverables are clearly articulated and potential issues are promptly identified and effectively addressed.
  • Mentor, coach, develop and recognise a high performing team of audit professionals fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and professional excellence.
  • Remain abreast of emerging industry and NSW Government policy and regulatory developments and emerging risks in emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and emerging cyber risks.

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree qualifications, e.g. bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, accounting or a related field.
  • Appropriate professional certifications including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or Australian Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is highly desirable.
  • Well-developed understanding of IT audit, business and systems transformation practices, procedures and standards.
  • Well-developed understanding of NSW Government Regulation as it relates to IT systems, digital and business transformation, risk management and internal auditing.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in IT auditing and business / systems transformation, and at least 5 years relevant experience in a heavily regulated sector.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, gained through leading Technology and Transformation Internal Audit teams.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Information Technology Control Frameworks and Cyber Security, acquired through prior experience directly in ITC and/or Cyber role or adjacent role.
  • Exposure and experience with global best practice of IT and Transformation Internal Audit.
  • Demonstrated experience in the adoption of technology or other operational level changes that have resulted in improving Internal Audit’s efficiency and ability to provide enhanced coverage.
  • Knowledge of leading practice in general insurance long tail, long term care schemes and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Understanding of NSW Government Regulation as it relates to IT systems, digital and business transformation, risk management and internal auditing.
  • Member of a recognised professional body.
  • Experience in continuous improvement approaches, creating solutions and problem solving.
  • A broad range of experience in the management of complex and/or sensitive matters.
