Collections Officer

About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to contribute and support the implementation of business plan objectives to enable the delivery and performance of the Payment Service Team operational requirements, timeframes and compliance requirements against agreed targets in line with the Collections strategic plan.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Collections Officer you will:

  • Respond to and address customer care complaints to minimise the adverse impact on the collection process.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and foster effective working relationships that will support collection strategies.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding the collection process and Strategic Business Plan objectives to support the effective performance of the position.
  • Identify and refer to the Team Leads, Collections any potential issues or problems with Payment Services Operations to ensure that they are promptly addressed.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.
  • Monitor and manage debtors accounts within targets, including, pre-emptive management of high-risk clients and collection of all premiums overdue/due and payable.

Skills & Experience

  • Business administration (or related) qualifications or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through practical experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of products and programs in the insurance industry.
  • Experience in credit and collections management.
