About the Role 

The Manager for Regulatory Affairs is a key liaison between icare and our regulators.  The Manager assists the Head of Regulatory Affairs to lead and monitor strategic and operational regulatory engagement across icare in support of organisational goals. The Manager Regulatory Affairs is important in proactively managing and responding to regulator requests in a timely manner and supporting the business in preparing responses to regulator enquiries.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Manager, Regulatory Affairs at icare you will:

  • Prepare high quality submissions, responses to letters of enquiry and audits from Regulators as required. 
  • Provide strategic and operational regulatory advice to internal stakeholders to build relationships with our regulator and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate and where required contribute to Regulatory audits or reviews, ensuring follow through and that corrective actions are implemented where needed.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of the Regulatory Affairs and Stakeholder Relations and Policy strategies, providing advice, assistance and leadership. Collaborate with cross functional teams (legal, operations, quality assurance) to integrate regulatory considerations into business planning. 
  • Ensure that internal regulatory documentation, compliance registers and records are kept in accordance with governance requirements. 
  • Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation strategies relating to regulatory compliance.
  • Train and support staff to build regulatory awareness and capability across the organisation. 
  • Protect icare’s brand when engaging with stakeholders and deliver consistent information in high pressure situations.
  • Develop, communicate and implement effective strategies and processes for the Regulatory Affairs team that support all icare service lines.
  • Manage complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the matters are effectively addressed.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of the key objectives and risks associated with icare initiatives and be able to deliver accurate and consistent information to our Regulators.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key external stakeholders to effectively engage, negotiate and influence outcomes aligned to icare’s business model.
  • Implement the tracking and reporting of regulator engagements to provide timely and accurate reporting, advice and thorough communications.
  • Work closely with service line specialists, Legal and Risk and Compliance team members to ensure that a coordinated and consistent approach is adopted across the Regulatory Affairs Team.
  • Engage closely with the broader Risk and Governance function to provide support developing a cohesive Risk and Governance strategy and support to icare service lines.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Law, Public Policy, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a regulatory, compliance or Policy role.
  • Familiarity with government processes, policy development and consultation practices
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Exceptional written skills to prepare clear, accurate and persuasive submissions and documentation. 
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with strong attention to detail
  • High level of integrity, discretion and professional judgment.
  • Organised and proactive with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
