The opportunity:

We have a permanent opportunity for an Underwriter to join icare and work as part of a team responsible for making underwriting decisions in respect to applications for builder eligibility and building project applications for Home Building Compensation Insurance.

The main role accountabilities are as follows:

  • Assess builder’s eligibility and project applications, using the relevant assessment tool and in accordance with the approved Eligibility Manual, to make eligibility decisions.
  • Effectively complete underwriting assessments and communicate eligibility decisions within Service Level Standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and autonomously manage highly effective business relationships with internal teams and external builders, customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Respond to queries and assist in responding to disputes and complaints with eligible builders to achieve outcomes that are in the best interest of the scheme.

 

Your story so far:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in commercial credit risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of either home warranty insurance, financial credit risk or the credit insurance industry.
  • Minimum of 1 year continuous and current membership accreditation as a CA, CFA and/or CPA.
