About the Role

This role is responsible for developing, leading, and executing sourcing plans and activities, based on research and analysis to optimize value-for-money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations. You will also assist in the management of a team of procurement staff to deliver procurement outcomes.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Category Manager ICT you will:

  • Develop, lead and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and analysis to optimise value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category, to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and performance management frameworks for all procurement related activity to ensure a high level of professional practice and deliver compliant, effective and efficient procurement outcomes.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.
  • Assist in the management of procurement staff to successfully deliver procurement business plans and achieve optimal outcomes from procurement activity.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in ICT procurement and knowledge of software, hardware, telecommunications, cloud and managed services
  • Proven success developing and implementing category strategies
  • Experience leading complex, high-value sourcing and tender processes across large enterprises
  • Strong contract negotiation and vendor management experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing procurement or category management teams
