The opportunity:

This exciting opportunity will report to an Actuary and work collaboratively with the Actuarial team, internal customers and stakeholders to support our deliverables. You will provide analysis and support for the Actuarial Team to enable icare to operate in a sustainable financially sound manner.

It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same. But on a typical day you will:

  • Apply in-depth actuarial and analytical skills to corporate analytical assignments to provide an effective service to the business.
  • Undertake detailed and complex analysis under the guidance of senior actuarial staff that improves the understanding of icare’s performance.
  • Provide support to projects that involve analysis of data and trends.
  • Communicate complex actuarial and analytical modelling and results to the actuarial team and stakeholders.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of the business entities within icare.

Your story so far:

  • You will hold a Tertiary qualification at degree level in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another relevant field which satisfies the requirements of Part I of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia’s actuarial education program.
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in an actuarial role in the general insurance industry (experience in personal injury is an advantage).
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to positively engage with stakeholders and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
