The opportunity:

A unique opportunity to lead a team and direct Procurement policy advice and capability training across icare, as well oversee the program management function with the wider Procurement Team. It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same, but typically you will:

  • Assist the Head of Procurement Strategy and Policy in the development and implementation of policies and guidelines, procedures, systems and performance management frameworks for all purchasing activities to ensure a high level of professional practice and deliver compliant, effective and efficient outcomes with icare business units as focus stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies and processes to mitigate risks in existing contracts, and challenge and motivate icare contract owners and managers to ensure Delegations Framework as well as GIPA contract disclosure compliance.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to develop strategies for best practice contract management plans and KPIs aligned with whole of government Procurement Board Directions.
  • Help identify, lead and manage cross-functional procurement projects including stakeholder management, systems improvement and relationship management with systems supplier.
  • Deliver procurement policy, process or systems training to the procurement teams as well as icare staff as required.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to assist the procurement team as well as icare staff comply with icare procurement policies and guidelines.

Your story so far:

  • Knowledge and application of the NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework and all mandatory procurement policies, or ability to quickly grasp based on experience in similar roles.
  • Experience in developing and delivering procurement policy, process and systems training with strong presentation skills and strong written communication with experience in policy writing.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to work collaboratively and build strong engagement with a range of stakeholders up to senior management level.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high volumes of work within tight timeframes; project management experience advantageous.
