The opportunity:

We are seeking an expert in procurement strategies to utilise value levers and derive benefits for icare’s strategic partnerships and increased expenditure.  This role focuses on icare spend and creates insights for better contract optimisation, appropriate market approaches and best practice contractual frameworks. 

You will be responsible for developing cost models as required as inputs to category management plans and help icare uplift and maintain its commercial practices in procurement strategies, baselining of contract spend and future value analysis.  This role complements the Heads of Portfolios with the implementation of category management and contract negotiations. ​

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as the Procurement Manager you will:

  • Work closely with the Head of Procurement Strategy and Policy to develop best commercial advice to the Chief Procurement Officer.
  • Conduct spend analytics and opportunities analysis to develop insights for procurement strategies.
  • Develop market and supplier segmentation analysis of icare’s spend under management
  • Create plans on a page for various strategies for endorsement by the Board Risk Committee and approval by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Assist in research and quantitative analysis for policy development, implementation and review.
  • Develop cost-benefit analysis for major procurements to ensure best procurement approach and contractual framework.
  • Develop and disseminate best commercial practices for the Procurement team to adopt.
  • Manage, motivate, and coach direct report/s to develop their capabilities and career progression.

Your story so far:

  • Recent experience in similar roles where you have managed the procurement lifecycle, contract negotiations, spend analytics and dashboard development (with advanced Excel skills).
  • Have recently applied knowledge of NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework and all mandatory procurement policies, as well as knowledge of the workings of the NSW Procurement Board and its delegates.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Category Management Plans.
  • Strong communicator, negotiator, problem solver & driven to achieving outcomes.
