The opportunity:

This is a ‘hands on’ role that provides a critical service in uplifting icare’s mandated ways of working that drives project delivery and appropriate governance of projects, programs and the enterprise portfolio at icare. This role custodians the Project Management Framework that support a fit for purpose project management delivery approach that focuses on value and outcomes for those we serve.

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Portfolio Governance Specialist you will:

  • Facilitate the design, implementation, adoption and continuous improvement of best practice frameworks and associated policies, guidelines and processes to ensure simple, efficient and effective project delivery and control.
  • Review the Project Management Framework through various standards, tools, processes and methodologies to ensure quality, effectiveness, and relevance, and considers insights and lessons learned.
  • Act as a critical project SME and provide guidance and knowledge on project, program, portfolio management and delivery to the project communicate and broader icare stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery framework, policy, processes, and minimum standards (including documentation and reporting requirements).
  • Provide hands on support and facilitation as required to ensure confidence that the project is set up for success, using icare’s frameworks, governance and tools, and will deliver the outcomes.
  • Support portfolio / program / project health checks, assurance, and audit / review actions, ensuring linkage with Risk and Governance Teams.

Your story so far:

  • Well-developed project management skills or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience, with an advance understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.
  • At least 5 years experience in portfolio and project management
  • Highly developed collaborative and partnering approach to stakeholder management
  • Experience in project tools such as PPM, JIRA, Power BI.
  • Advanced Office 365 experience and skills.
  • Tertiary level qualifications and/or Project Management qualification (MoP, Prince2, PMBOK, PMP/CAPM, PMI or Six Sigma) is highly regarded.
