About the Role

In this role, you will provide expert legal advice in procurement, contracts and commercial matters, and also provide support from time to time across one or more of the following areas of administrative law, personal injury law and dispute resolution. Working closely with business leaders and enabling services, you will build strong partnerships to deliver practical, commercially focused legal solutions that support organisational objectives. You will act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing strategic legal guidance to help navigate complex issues and enable informed decision making.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Lawyer you will:

  • Analyse and provide oral and written advice on legal matters to meet business requirements, in consultation with other Legal team members. 
  • Facilitate client engagement, consultation and negotiation on legal issues and ensure that consistent and defensible advice is provided to the business.
  • Ensure legal firms comply with service level agreement requirements and add significant value to in-house legal resources.
  • Provide legal support and advice in relation to procurement activities and scheme activities on behalf of internal clients.
  • Analyse legislative sources, court and tribunal decisions, regulatory guidance and other guidance in order to present insights, lead and facilitate education on precedents and emerging trends on a range of legal matters.

Skills & Experience

  • Admission as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of NSW with a current practising certificate and a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing Lawyer
  • Experience and technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: procurement, contracts and commercial law.
  • A broad range of experience in relationship management and ability to adapt to change.
  • A range of experience gained as a lawyer in a leading firm and/or inhouse corporate or government organisation
