ICT Category Manager

The opportunity:

In this role, you will lead and direct the provision of ICT procurement services, including procurement planning, category plans, development, sourcing, contract and risk management activities to meet business needs.

It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same, but on a typical day you will:

  • Develop, lead and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and analysis to optimise value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on category objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation.
  • Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category, to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions.
  • Develop and implement category management plan to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.

Your story so far:

  • A seasoned procurement specialist with extensive experience in tendering, contract-sourcing and vendor relationship management as well experience working in ICT procurement (ideally 3- 5 years).
  • Knowledge of NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework is advantageous.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to build engagement and deliver outcomes.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high volumes of work.
