icare is seeking a seasoned strategic delivery focussed professional who has strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire people. As the Head of Claims Technology Delivery, you will:

Supports multiple technology delivery Programs by representing the operational and scheme interest of the Workers Compensation (NI) function. This role sits within the Workers Compensation (NI) function and partners with the Program stakeholders to ensure alignment and business continuity. Icare’s technology Programs include Data Migration, Data Storage & Reporting, Core Platform Uplift and more. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provides business, commercial, and operational support to the Programs. Liaises with the Program Directors, Program Managers, and the Workers Compensation Product Owners to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Acts as an escalation point for the Workers Compensation Product Owner team to facilitate harmonious collaboration with Program Directors and DigiTech senior leaders.
  • Translate strategy across program streams and into wider NI Scheme, driving the needs of the Workers Compensation (NI) function within the Programs.
  • Lead and own addressing program risks and potential impacts to the Workers Compensation (NI) function.
  • Ensure the Programs maintains adherence to agreed delivery standards and are cognisant of Workers Compensation (NI) function interests

Proactively provides regular communications across a range of key stakeholders, including Board and Executive. Ensures prioritisation and status issues are conveyed to executives and steering committee members

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical accounting and finance skills with relevant experience. Specific requirements include:

  • Extensive experience leading large scale transformational programs of work and/or program management
  • Significant experience in project management (ideally in insurance or finance landscape)
  • Thorough understanding of contractual arrangements with providers and key internal stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of the General insurance industry and/or Workers Compensation scheme
  • Business related qualifications
  • General insurance industry experience combined with developed understanding across all facets of service provider and contract management.
