The opportunity:

Work as part of a Transformation Change and Program team, and closely with enterprise communications and subject matter experts to proactively develop and deliver the Communications strategy for a large-scale, long-term business transformation program. Includes managing end to end communications to internal and external stakeholders such as developing the strategy, key messages and narrative, creating and delivering content and collateral and tracking, reporting and measuring communications.

It’s an exciting environment where no two days are the same. But on a typical day you might find yourself:

  • Engage with subject matter experts and senior leadership team across the business to provide expert advice on communications and stakeholder engagement strategy to support the Transformation Program.
  • Develop timely communication recommendations to incorporate the perspectives of multiple stakeholders and consider the broader icare and government context.
  • Respond to emerging urgent matters and quickly synthesise and deal with issues with multiple competing project streams and tight deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Business-as-Usual Communications teams and Corporate Affairs to ensure accurate communications, alignment and consistency with the icare approach to all of government matters.
  • Ensure information and messaging packs are always up to date for immediate use with external stakeholders as required.
  • Develop communications tools and informed, concise and well-structured materials using a range of communication channels.

Your story so far:

  • You will be comfortable operating with autonomy at times, then able to switch to being able to determine priorities and goals with your manager
  • Have the ability to ensures decisions made are in accordance with compliance and governing frameworks, legislations, delegations and policy
  • Previous experience exploring, recommending communications methods and opportunities to deliver communications to internal and external stakeholders
  • Held positions where you have been responsible for the quality and integrity of content provided to all stakeholders
  • Exposure to building and maintaining a wide knowledge and understanding of the public-sector environment and apply expertise including concepts, processes and strategies to achieve business outcomes
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in relevant areas
